Rome, 19 January 1911, Azioni of 100 Lire, #98, 21 x 36.7 cm, beige, olive, some coupons remaining, original signatures, founders' share, very decorative design by Nino Bertoletti, only 2,000 copies were issued. The company built and distributed the first navigation device in the history of automobiles. They used printed and exchangeable maps. The maps were put on a role. The driver turned the machine and could always see the route. Most likely the system was not very successful, because the company never paid dividends. The designer of the share, Umberto Natale Bertoletti, was born in Rome in 1889. In 1907, he started his education as illustrator, painter and sculptor. Later Bertoletti engaged in the restructuring of the Rome district Borgo.

Monti della Città di Firenze; Florenz, 15.02.1747, Monte Nuovo Commune della Città di Firenze über einen 3/4 Luoghi (á 100 Dukaten), o. Nr., 19,7 x 26 cm, schwarz, beige, Druck auf Pergament, Knickfalten, Siegel fehlt, OU, Wappen, #18 nach Hielscher. R8. Florence, 15 February 1747, Monte Nuovo Commune della Città di Firenze for 3/4 Luoghi (á 100 Ducats), without number, 19.7 x 26 cm, black, beige, printed on vellum, folds, seal missing, original signatures, coat of arms, #18 according to Hielscher. R8. All the states, later founding members of Italy, and the Church had a very high demand for funds, especially Tuscany and its capital city Florence. As well as the historical background and the age of the certificate the design is very interesting. The Medici family gained wealth from the banking business and attained sovereignty over Florence in 1434. At first they were titled Dukes of Florence (1531), finally Grand Dukes of Tuscany (1569). They became the wealthiest and politically most important Florentine family. So the name Medici is known as a synonym for tremendous wealth. Please read also the book “Die florentinischen Monti“ („The Florentine Monti“), written by Prof. Dr. Udo Hielscher, published by HWPH AG.

There was an assembly plant in Naples. But the cars built there sold not very well. Therefore the plant was moved to Milano and in 1910 finally sold to investors. The name of the company was changed to Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili (ALFA). In 1915 the major shareholder, the Banca di Sconto, installed Nicola Romeo as new boss of the plant.
