1939, THE ORIGINAL J MARKED REISEPASS OR PASSPORT OF A MAN WHO WAS IMPRISONED AT CONCENTRATION CAMP, SURVIVED AND FLED TO UNITED KINGDOM. "Reisepass"passport of IDA Sara Kohn issued 6th april 1939 in Frankfurt {Main} showing the big red "J" for jew. The addition of a middle name to signify a jew - "ISRAEL" for a male & "Sara" for a female. Card D 3890 visa granted for United Kingdom issued 25th April 1939 - admitted 22nd June 1939.

1941, GHETTO LITMANNSTADT 1941 ALUMINIUM TAG. REAR STAMPED 'GEMELDET / POL BATL 20'. and LITZMANNSTADT GHETTO. 1943, HANDMADE BRASS MIZRACH. (ESTT). For Eastern European Jwes, Jerusalem was to the East, so the Mizrach was affixed to the Eastern well of the house or shul, thereforeindication the direction for prayer. In South Africa, the direction of Jerusalem is Noirth-East, but still it is called e Mizrach.

The Firefighters were responsibie for the bafbed-wire fences around the entire ghetto. but approaching the ghettro fence could draw the death penalty....
