Sc.296a, 1901 2c. Train with center inverted FORGERY, on a cover front sent from Jefferson to Mexico on 25/OC/1902. These examples with center inverted come from a special printing and show a lighter carmine shade, all the known genuine examples are used in Brooklyn, NY. It is a very good forgery, difficult to detect for the untrained eye, and very interesting for the specialist!

On transit at sea, the ship S.S.LIBERTÉ carrying the letter encountered a storm that produced some water damage to the mail, and the US Mail delivered the letter along with an explanatory note, interesting!
