Welcome to our May 5-6 Auction Sale, to be held at our New York City galleries.
There are 1,644 lots of rare stamps and postal history from United States and rest of the world, including properties of numerous vendors and estates sold by their order.
Western European countries include Austria, Belgium, France and Colonies, Germany and Colonies, Italy and Colonies, Liechtenstein, Spain and Scandinavia.
Great and Britain and British Commonwealth are well represented with strength in Victoria and George V singles and sets.
Also featured are flight covers of the world, with selections of Zeppelin dispatches. Sections of better South America, Asia and rest of the world are also noteworthy.
The sale concludes with 150+ large lots and collections, which range from single country collections to multi-carton worldwide groups of stamps and covers.

1934 surcharges, 1,30 on 1,25L blue, small figures "30" in "1.30", thin surcharge, prepared but never issued, n.h., perfectly centered, fresh and v.f., pencil signed A.Diena etc., with 2006 "Grande Rarita" Raybaudi cert. Only one sheet of 100 of these sample surcharges were printed and sold by error. 1934 surcharges, 1,30 on 1,25L blue, thin surcharge, prepared but never issued, cancelled on piece by 17.9.34 postmark, v.f., signed A.Diena etc., with 2005 "Grande Rarita" Raybaudi cert. Only 100 of this sample surcharge were printed and erroneously sold by the Post Office, only a few used examples known to still exist (Sass. 36A, cat. Euro 20,000) -
