1872 stampless letter from Germany to Canada, endorsed "by Steamer via Cork & Ostende", with Ludwigshafen 12 May cds and sender's "Clemens Grohe" cachet. The letter was sorted on Allan Line Steamer "Sarmatian", the "Canadian PKT/W" cds being applied and the letter charged "1", the previous "4" rate being crossed out.
