Lebanon Austrian Office, incoming envelope sent on 15/12/1870 from Cheltenham, England to Beirut, via Belgium during the Franco-Prussian war. Franked for 9 pences by three 3p stamps (plate 5). In arrive on bach added handwritten note in two line "Received per Russian St. 10 .... Forwarded 11 ....". VERY NICE AND SCARCE.

Lebanon Austrian Office, incoming reply part of stationery postcard overprint 20 paras, sent from Ancona, Italy, on 31/5/1894. It was the "answer" part of a postcard with a "paid reply" originally sent from Beirut to Ancona. The other written part was held back by the recipient.
