Corinphila Auction 291-297 Day 3

1872/77: Cérès 5 c. green on blued, 10 c. brown on rose and Type Sage 20 c. lilac brown on yellowish, just shaved to large margins, used on 1878 entire letter endorsed "Via Brindisi" to Bordeaux, tied by "INDE / PONDICHERY" cds's (Sept 3) in black. Repeated strike adjacent and carried on P&O steamer "Nepaul" from Bombay to Suez, with "Col. Fr. V. Brind" / A. Mod" transit in red (Sept 24). A most attractive mixed issue franking.
