Envelope addressed to France bearing Chile Yvert 14, 10c blue tied by bar obliterator with Concepcion/Chile double ring in carmine '30th Aug', endorsed 'via Panama' with Valparaiso '7 Sept' and British Post Office Callao on reverse 'Sp 20' with hand-struck 'Panama/28 Sept 175/Transit' on face and sent on the French paquebot "Layfayette" with 'Ligne-A Paq. Fr. No 3' date stamp in red (Salles 1401), charged with hand-struck '15' and Paris arrival on reverse. Lovely item of Exhibition quality.
