1849, 20c. black, fresh colour, full to large margins with parts of upper adjoining stamp, single franking on lettersheet from Paris to Lectoure, clearly oblit. by grille and c.d.s. "PARIS (H) 2 NOV 49" alongside, ms. endorsed "P.8g" (=weight 8gr.), insufficiently paid and therefore charged with postage due mark "2" (2 decimes), LECTOURE arrival 4 NOV 49 on reverse. The 20c. rate applied for a weight not to exceed 7½ grams; ½ gram made the difference! Signed Calves, Roumet and certificate Roumet. Unusual and attractive!
