Die staatliche Gesellschaft begann 1892 mit dem Bau des ersten Assuan-Staudamms. Nach zehn Jahren Bauzeit war dieser fertig. Nach zwei Erhöhungen in den Jahren 1912 und 1932 staute er mit 51 Meter Höhe den Nil auf 300 Kilometer Länge. 1959 wurde dann sieben Kilometer südlich des alten Staudamms ein neuer, viel größerer Staudamm errichtet. 3 December 1901, Mandat de Paiement for £ 500, Series 21, #124, 31.7 x 36 cm, orange, red, hole cancellation, vignette with Sphinx and pyramid, large half moon and star in the underprint. The government owned company started with building the first Aswan High Dam in 1892. After ten years it was finished. After it was risen in 1921 and 1932, the Aswan High Dam dammed the Nile on a height of 51 meters and a length of 300 kilometres.
