Besieged Gush Etzion 23 AP 48 Flown cv from Gush Etzion, return address: "Shlomo Froind Kfar Etzion, POB 2693 Tel Aviv", many settlements maintained POBs in TLV,  (Shlomo Freund was killed in the last battle of the Gush 13.5.48) the Gush settlements were under siege as of Jan 48, the air strip was in service as of Feb 7, the Gush surrendered to the Jordanian Legion on 13 May 1948. The cv is franked by a JNF label (Kap #810b) not valid for postage, tolerated & tied by the Mandate pmk struck upon arrival in TEL AVIV 23 AP 48; bottom back flap torn & repaired, light toning, fine & Very Rare, delivered in TLV by a Jew. postal employees so Untaxed, see NRNS p. 189/208, certif Muentz
