"ANTI-SEMITISM AND HOLOCAUST" - THE ARIE LINDENBAUM COLLECTION 1900/2010 (ca.), all-embracing exhibit on apprx. 200 album pages, documenting the wide-spread Anti-Semitism in general and the Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich and related atrocities in particular. The collection is organised by the chapters "Prologue to Holocaust", "Under the Shadow of Hitler's rise", "Towards the 'Final Solution'", "Ghettos", "Concentration and Extermination Camps", "Crime and Punishment", "The Reich's Collapse". Included is a vast range of interesting material, especially apprx. 80 pieces Concentration Camp/Ghetto mail, comprising mail from Kutno, Plonsk, Majdanek, Auschwitz, Theresienstadt, Litzmannstadt, Warsaw including a scarce official bilingual form to receive shoes (authorization for shoes was required!), very rare mail from the death camp Sobibor and mail from labor camps and concentration camps throughout Europe. Further items are documenting the forced migration of jews, included is an original Collective Visa issued by the Swiss Embassy in Hungary to support the emigration of Hungarian Jews to Palestine. Also included are documents describing incidents after the liberation, i.a. the immigration of Holocaust Survivors, mail from DP (displaced persons) camps, a letter from the Nuremberg Trials 1946, Adolph Eichmann's capture and trial, jewish contribution to the resistance and victory over the Nazis and many other interesting items. A substantial and very detailed collection with historical significance!

About the collector: Arie Lindenbaum, born in Poland and survived the Holocaust, currently resides in Israel. Arie was former chairman of the Judaica Collectors Association, and a journalist in the daily newspaper "Davar", responsible for various hobbies sections. For many years Arie edited and published the "Israeli Stamp Magazine", and wrote several books on the stamps subject both in Hebrew and English. Judaica specialist Arie presented his Holocaust collection in exhibitions around the world and won high appreciation and medals.
