1854 Mouring cover addressed to 'Lady Gardiner, The Convent, Gibraltar', the Governor Sir Robert William Gardiner's wife at the Governor's residency (Convent) at Gibraltar, franked by 1847-54 embossed 6d. purple (cut-to-shape with partially cut design) cancelled by London numeral "41", originally endorsed "By overland Mail" but deleted and sent by ship with order "By Alexandria Mail of the 4th", backstamped by blue London Street h/s and "1854/3 NO 3" despatch cds in red. AN INTERESTING COVER COVER TO A FAMOUS ADDRESSEE.
