1855, CRIMEAN WAR, pair of officers letters from the Crimea to Rome bankers and there to Edmund R.P. Bastard, member of the well known Bastard family, other items from correspondence demonstrate source to the Baldwin J.P. Bastard (son of E.P. Bastard, MP for Devonshire, 1816-30), super group with C.V.D. of Baldwin (Eton, 1839) and bookplate, the letters with slight repairs, different "VIA DI MARE" postmarks, also french double ring "CAIRE DE LA MEDITERANEE".
