FRENCH POST OFFICE IN ZANZIBAR: 1897, 5c green Sage issue former vertical pair reconstructed with a hinge showing type IX and XI surcharges (from position 20 and 25): 2 1/2 annas and 25 centimes on stamp already showing a 1/2 annas surcharge, very fine, mint with full original gum. THIS RARITY OF THE FRENCH COLONIES (ONLY 96 and 32 PRINTED OF WHICH MORE THAN 95 % ARE USED ! ) IS PROBABLY UNIQUE AS A PAIR. Signed Calves, A.Brun, Champion, Pascal Scheller certificate (2012).
