1804. Stampless envelope written from Isle de la Trinite dated ‘1st Juillet 1804’ addressed to Brignoiles, France via United States with m/s ‘New York 13th August. 1804’. Forwarded by ‘hble Serv./Wil. Mucom’ with hand-struck Nantes and rated ‘9’ in m/s on face paying the internal tariff and endorsed ‘Received 26th Ocotobre’. Very rare early letter from Trinidat written from the French Setllement in Trinidad and routed via New York de to the Continental Blockade about to e implemented.
