Advertising envelope for ‘Columbia Bicycles’ addressed to Papeete, Tahiti bearing United States SG 257, 5c brown tied by Hartford, Conn. machine ‘Ap 10 1895’, routed via New York and San Francisco, underpaid with ‘25/Ctms/T’ hand-stamp on facce and bearing French General Colonies postage due Yvert 23, 50c maroon (imperf) tied by Papeete/Tahiti date stamp on face ‘25th Mai’. A lovely item in Exhibition quality. Pre 1900 Postage Due covers from Tahiti are very scarce!
