1900 (21 April) 2nd BOER WAR: Oval datestamp "Veld Post Z.A.R./MOUNT PROSPECT/21 APR 1900" (Type M.M.3.3) tying ½d. green to printed envelope (faults) used by Field Post from Volksrust to Johannesburg, with despatch and arrival datestamps on the reverse. Envelope roughly opened at right otherwise fine. A SCARCE MOUNT PROSPECT DATESTAMP WHICH WAS USED FROM FEB. TO APRIL 1900 ONLY, and only very few covers are known.
