1882 Cover (trimmed 3.5 cm at left) to Paris bearing 1863 2r. red with blue "cross" cancel in crayon, PANAMA British P.O. cds (16 Sep), circular "NY/T" due marking and Paris arrival cds with added 10c postage due in black, on reverse with New York transit cds. Brian Moorhouse certificated in 2016: 'I have examined the cover and I'm unable to confirm that the Costa Rican stamp originated on this cover, and if originate, then the 10c postage due charge is incorrect and should be a higher amount ... may be other postage due stamp(s) also trimmed at left hand side'. Nevertheless, a very scarce cover via Panama to France.
