1868 (5 JUL) EL cover from Rostov to Syros franked by Russian 3k.+5k.+30k. in pair, prepaid rate to Constantinople. Taxed on arrival with handwritten "180" (lepta) in blue crayon and franked with 20 lep. blue, 40 lep. mauve on blue 1868/69 issue and 80 lep. rose carmine 1862/67 issue. Tied by "ΣΥΡΟΣ 20 ΙΟΥΛ. 68" type II (fourth weight). Each country was responsible from postage to or from Constantinople which was the place of exchange between the two postal administrations. Usual creases but a wonderful rare and most attractive item (Hellas 22a, 27a, 28b)
