A selection from the 7,700 lots contained in our 149th auction with numerous specialities and many highlights!
German states: an extensive supply with – among others – the contents of the broken up <<FÜRSTENRIED>> collection – almost exclusively containing extremely fine and superb quality items. Nearly all of them have current assessments; highlights include a Hamburg Mi.-Nr. 7 and 18, Sachsen 1a, Helgoland 8b to name only a few; the auction also contains interesting cover applications, pre-philatistic covers, cancelled lots and sought-after standard issues.
German empire: valuable supply with many colours, types, varieties and specialities, including many breast plate issues, stamp booklets and se-tenants, along with an interesting selection of Zeppelin covers.
German colonies / post offices abroad: extensive supply with numerous types, covers, specialities and cancellations, very extensive supply of the popular mnh issues.
Occupation World War I/Plebiscites/Gdansk/Memel/Saar: wide-ranging supply, including interesting items from the Saargebiet with numerous varieties and specialities, Memel is represented with types and many better values.
World War II/field post: extensive supply with many rarities and sought-after standard issues. One special feature is the content of a dissolved collection containing an outstanding field post collection with a large number of rare covers, such as a Tunis parcel stamp (Päckchenmarke) on the parcel address or the U-boat Hela stamp on a cover, Sarny and North Ukraine commercial letters are also on offer. Of equal interest are the 1st section of the special <<BELGRAD>> collection – covers from the German Occupation WW II in Serbia, about 200 positions from the 1st and 2nd issues are being offered, the following issues will be up for auction in May 2016, comprising more than 500 lots during the 150th auction. Particularly eye-catching: rare blocks from Pleskau and an nmh Montenegro No. 19.

German states: an extensive, valuable supply with, among others, Bergedorf Mi.-Nr. 3 canceled “Kirchwerder” (catalogue price 900.00), Bergedorf Nr. 5 canceled (700.00), Württemberg 70 Kreuzer – very fine in canceled condition (1,500.00), to name only a few interesting examples. In addition, canceled lots incl. late usages from several regions. Approximately 1,250 lots in total from all regions! Furthermore, there are country and general collections in the collections section.
German empire: valuable selection with many colours, varieties and specialities, including many commercial letters, mnh breast plate values, Nothilfeblock, Zeppelin covers, stamp booklets and se-tenants, III. Reich with first day covers, etc.
German colonies/post offices abroad: high-quality supply with numerous rarities, such as proofs, types, mnh issues, covers with many 3-rupee, 5-mark and 2 1/2 dollar values, “Kaiseryacht” issues and a good canceled selection from the DOA, DSW and Cameroon regions.
Occupation World War I/Plebiscites/Gdansk/Memel/Saar: an interesting supply from the Saar and Gdansk, including mnh “großer Innendienst” (4,000.00), from the Plebiscites and WWI occupation, including extensive number of Allenstein, and particularly Marienwerder with many types and all values expertly evaluated by Professor Dr. Klein!
World War II/field post: interesting supply with numerous rarities, including Montenegro Mi.-Nr. 19 mnh, one of the most sought-after issues of the WWII German Occupation, which and consists of only 1,000 pieces, also propaganda forgeries and Feldpost Mi.-Nr. 5b in a vertical, unused strip of three. Pleskau with an extremely rare Mi.-Nr. 2b in canceled condition with current photo certification Zirath BPP.
West zones/Bund/Berlin: interesting supply with a number of varieties, specialities and sought-after first issues, including issues that remained imperforated, perforated ones, first day covers, etc.
SBZ/DDR: specialised supply with numerous sub-numbers, plate errors, colours, types and specialities, the majority already expertly evaluated – many with photo expertization certificates! Including, among others, GDR with watermark varieties.
Europe: extensive and substantial supply, especially for Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, as well as Croatia and Yugoslavia with numerous specialities and rarities!

A very diverse supply of collections encompassing more than 1,800 lots, primarily from private collectors, including - among others - complete estate collections, our traditional section “collection dissolution” contains five large estate collections; also specialised country collections, grab-bag item boxes and covers with material from all over the world!
Coins: extensive supply with 2,500 lots and a total auction value of ca. € 750,000, featuring the following highlights:
“Colonia” collection: around 100 denars from the Roman Republic, mostly in better condition. Furthermore, the actual heart of this collection: Cologne archdiocese and the city of Cologne. The outstanding pieces here include - among others - a half thaler with the title Rudolf II. (Noss 261, price 1,000) and a ducat with the title Franz I., 1750, Noss635c, in well-preserved condition (Price 1,000). Another interesting piece is a thaler that was minted for sede vacante in 1761 (Noss 772, Price 1,000).
Antiquity: Special mention should be made here regarding two extremely rare EL half stater from Ionia, priced at € 12,000 each. In addition to various rare and well-preserved tetra drachmas from - among other places - Attica, numerous solidi of different Byzantine regents are available.
German empire/Weimar: The focus here should especially be on the very rare pieces on hand, such as a 5-mark Waldeck Pyrmont (J. 171, vz from PP, Price 3,200), a rare 5-Reichsmark piece Eichbaum 1933 J (vz-st., Price 3,600), as well as two Goethe 5-Reichsmark pieces with the embossed letters “A” and “E” (Prices 1,200 and 1,500).
Russia: Large supply of silver, gold, platinum and palladiuim mintings. Rare and sought-after series, e.g. the Brown Bear series from 1993, the 1995 Lynx series and the 1996 Tiger series are available here in gold and in all denominations (Price €2,500; 1,800; and 2,500). In addition to the highlights, nearly all 25 (5 oz.) ruble coins in silver are also on hand.
Medallions: Medallion enthusiasts will also be very pleased with the supply available this time. Besides numerous Belgian and French mintings in bronze and silver, there are also some gold medallions on offer. Of particular interest are - among others - two gold medallions by the Austrian painter, architect and graphic artist Ernst Fuchs, which were minted in commemoration of Konrad Adenauer (€ 800 each).
Collections/Estates: Comprehensive and diverse supply of collections, estates and lots in all sizes.
