Hong Kong, 1859 (29 Nov.) envelope (opened out for display) to Hagerstown, Maryland, U.S.A. "Via Marseilles" and London (13.1.60) showing "Hong Kong/Paid" c.d.s. in red with manuscript "1/-" adjacent, both crossed out in red crayon, and blue "Hong Kong/C" despatch and "Boston Br. Pkt." (4.2) c.d.s. on reverse, rated "40" cents with handstruck "45" cents charge, an unusual cover erroneously originally struck with the "Hong Kong/Paid" c.d.s. and manuscript sterling accounting charge as paid mail when actually sent as unpaid mail.
