Muratti ein Geschäft eröffnete und Zigaretten herstellte. Nachdem im Osmanischen Reich die Tabakindustrie monopolisiert worden war, verlagerte er sein Unternehmen in den 1880er Jahren dann nach Westeuropa. 1885 wurde eine Firma in Deutschland gegründet, kurze Zeit später eine weitere in London.
