Macedon, under Roman rule. First Meris. Silver Tetradrachm (16.7 g), ca. 167-148 BC. Amphipolis. Macedonian shield with central boss depicting diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver at shoulder. Reverse MAKEΔONΩN ΠPΩTHΣ, club; above, monogram; all within oak-wreath; to left, thunderbolt. AMNG III/1 159; SNG Ashmolean 3290. Nicely toned. Very Fine.
